The InterGen Café: an informal discussion about the current conflict in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank
On February 25, 2024, the EFC Alum Outreach and Engagement Committee hosted an informal discussion about the current conflict in Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. The goal was to provide an opportunity for youth and adults in the EFC community to share their thoughts, feelings, questions, and perspectives. An intergenerational team of EFC alums imagined, created, and facilitated this forum, designed to allow people to speak openly in a safe environment about this difficult situation that affects us all.

What do leaders need to tackle the thorny issues of health, education, justice or the environment?
I give to the Encampment so that young people can learn how to engage with the world when it needs them most. Whether tackling the thorny issues of health, education, justice or the environment, we need leaders who can listen, explain and work toward shared goals — and do it with heart, as the Encampment taught us.
Invest in the future of democracy
You can make a difference in young activists’ lives. Giving to the Encampment shows that you care about democracy, economic inequality, racial, sexist, homophobic violence and environmental destruction.

This program helped me grow a lot as a person.
… I learned to be more open-minded and obtained a different perspective on life. I have become more confident, and that’s something I really needed. I’m ready to go back to my community and be a leader. I am planning to create a club at my school that will provide career education and guidance toward reaching the level of education required.
