“We are celebrating our journey since our founding – building multicultural and intergenerational community together. Our journey is about people learning from and being inspired by each other to take action for social justice. It’s about hope, democracy, and working to make a better world together. Our event will build community as we celebrate eight decades of preparing young people to work for justice – at the Encampment, we don’t just talk about community, we build it.”— Margot Gibney (alum 1971 & Former Executive Director)
We invite you to celebrate the EFC’s impact and leadership legacy while connecting with other alums and supporters. This is an intergenerational gathering — and an opportunity to participate in the EFC’s work.
Jason Warwin (alum 1989) and Deanna Mousseau (alum 2015-17) have graciously consented to be our Co-Emcees.
There will be a video showing EFC’s impact over the decades and we will especially honor former Executive Director Margot Gibney and former Education Director Jane Sapp.
You can join a small group discussion with alums of all ages focused on providing inspiration and sharing among generations with an emphasis on resources to support younger alums in their lives, leadership, and social justice work.
Executive Director Faith R. Kares will bring us up to date with EFC’s current activities including our 2027 summer program venue in Chicago.
